sdy prize is an international youth award that celebrates those making a difference in our world – from peacemakers to those providing aid for the most vulnerable. Winners receive cash awards, recognition and future opportunities for career advancement. The award is also meant to inspire others to follow in their footsteps by pursuing careers that benefit society.
The Sdy Prize is awarded to young scientists whose work has some beneficial impact on the lives of other people. This can include educating the public about science, creating interest in fields like biology and medicine, or contributing to technological innovations that improve people’s lives. Those who win the prize are able to use it as motivation to continue to pursue their research and scientific goals, regardless of the obstacles they may face.
It is a great honour to be recognised by the Sdy prize and I would like to thank the jury for their choice. It is a very special moment for me, especially since I started my career in the field of computational sciences. I believe that the field of computer science is an important area for the development of our society, and I am proud to be part of it.
In a recent interview with ESL, Monte player Viktor “sdy” Orudjev was asked whether the opportunity to win the last CS:GO tournament motivates his team. He responded that it would be cool, but he would like to focus on preparing for the next season of BLAST Premier Spring Lisbon and IEM Cologne 2024.
SDY pools Master 2023 was a significant tournament for both Monte and sdy. In the final, Monte defeated Eternal Fire with a 2:0 score on maps. The victory gave the CIS duo their first major LAN championship, and they won the $22,570 grand prize.
The award is made annually on the recommendation of the Head of Department of History and Theory after considering advice from the Annual Examiners’ Meeting, for a student who has completed at least two senior undergraduate units in Art History and Theory and has written an essay on an approved topic. The essay must be of outstanding merit. This prize is named after the late Kathryn Carter.
